The colour of chalk and gesso, this is a cool soft white without pink or yellow in it. Old White works with everything but for the quintessential French look use it over Paris Grey. It can also be added to any of the other colours to lighten them and make them the exact tone for your room. At our 1850 Homestead farmhouse, we painted our kitchen Old White as a lovely backdrop for our Duck Egg Blue cabinets.
Shown as an end table against Svenska Blue walls, with a Graphite Craqueleur lamp and Ticking lampshade and curtains in Graphite. The 3 design boards show:
- Floral design boards with a Provence base with Florence stems and Old White blossoms,
- A modern design board with an Old White base and detail in Burgundy, Louis Blue, Duck Egg Blue, Paris Grey, Paloma, Coco and Antoinette, and
- A Geo-Folk design board shows Antoinette, Greek Blue, Florence, Graphite, Old White and Emperor's Silk.
Also shown as a graffiti cabinet with every stencil Annie Sloan makes, with a Graphite base color and stencils done in Old White in front of a Graphite wall. An old radiogram is painted in Old White then heavily waxed with Dark Wax, shown in a Versailles room. A kitcken cupboard is painted in Old White and finished with Clear Wax.
The 1 Liter tin is enough to cover approximately 13 square meters or 140 square feet. After painting, seal indoor furniture with Chalk Paint® Wax. On floors, seal with Chalk Paint® Lacquer. Take a look at our Tips & Techniques section for more information and to help you get started.
The 120ml Sample Pot is enough to cover approximately 80+ square feet of coverage, for example 2-3 chairs, and if you thin with water it can cover even more.
